In 2012, nearly 67,000 stuffed animals were shipped out to children in 14 countries and 17 US States. This amount nearly tripled the output of 2011 and was the largest volume provided by the Teddy Bear Brigade ministry in it’s history.

These donations were given by people across the United States, Canada and even Europe. Each of these precious gifts accompanied other life-saving supplies in order to bring both physical and emotional healing to those scarred by poverty and natural disaster. “Thousands of children were helped through each ‘teddy bear’ or financial gift given by our TBB supporters. I personally want to thank each one for their help in 2012 and ask that they join us again in 2013,” said Chris Ellis, TBB Director.

In 2013 the Teddy Bear Brigade hopes to collect and ship 100,000 stuffed animals and raise $100,000 in support. This will cover the expense involved in handling or transporting the stuffed animals as well and help pay for additional humanitarian or disaster relief supplies. You can make a tax-deductible financial donation by clicking here,

We have sent a swift response to aid those impacted by SuperStorm Sandy along the East Coast, but there is still much to do.

We have already sent over 360,000 pounds of supplies. This includes nine loads of blankets, which have proven to be incredibly useful in the frigid temperatures that have plagued the region. In addition to the blankets, we’ve sent non-perishables, water bottles, cleaning supplies, pet food and snacks.

In NY alone, we’ve helped people in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Far Rockaway, Bronx, and Albany. In total, we have sent 15 tractor-trailer loads to the Northeast and one to Charleston, WV. We’re not done yet though. We plan to send at least four more loads to NY and NJ. As long as there is need, we’ll be working to fulfill it.

“With such a monster storm late in the year, it is imperative we continue receiving monetary donations,” says Rev. Ron Davidson, founder of GFTW. “This economic climate has made it extremely challenging to procure products and secure funds for shipping. Millions of people felt the effects of the storm, and we want to do our best to relieve as much suffering as we can.”

Support our efforts to aid victims of the hurricane by clicking the picture above. If you’d like to make a product donation, you can donate new items listed here.

This year the Teddy Bear Brigade is joining forces to help Nathan Norman, a young 5 year old battling cancer, and his family bring Christmas hope to children in several pediatric hospitals. Nathan’s inspirational story recently made both local and national news, and launched a viral Facebook page called “Nathan’s Christmas”.

Since 2009 Nathan and his family have provided Christmas “Stockings” or bags to sick children and the goal for this year is to distribute them to at least 2,000 children. A new, small stuffed animal (6″-12″) is one part of the supplies that go into each bag. We are asking all of our TBB supporters to help us supply the 2,000 new stuffed animals needed for the “stockings”. Stuffed animals for this project must be NEW since they are going to children with weakened immune systems, any used donations will be used for TBB’s normal mission. If you’d be willing to help please drop them off at the Gleaning For The World warehouse or ship them to:
