In recent weeks we’ve been able to send thousands of stuffed animals to children impacted by the recent tornadoes in Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama. There have been amazing stories of how these simple gifts have brought comfort to these young victims. We will share some those in the future.
When a natural disaster strikes one of the most affected and traumatized are the children. The Teddy Bear Brigade works to put stuffed animals into the hands of these children as a symbol of comfort and security. It is important for these children to know that they are loved and this simple gift can make a wonderful difference in their lives.
In 2011 The Teddy Bear Brigade provided stuffed animals to children impacted by the tornadoes in Joplin, MO, Birmingham, AL and Raleigh, NC. Stuffed animals were also sent as aid to areas in the Northeast impacted by flooding. We also worked to help children during last year’s Haitian earthquake and many other such tragedies over the years.
