Teddy Bear Brigade Helping Children Battling Cancer

Home  /  Recent News  /  Current Page

This year the Teddy Bear Brigade is joining forces to help Nathan Norman, a young 5 year old battling cancer, and his family bring Christmas hope to children in several pediatric hospitals. Nathan’s inspirational story recently made both local and national news, and launched a viral Facebook page called “Nathan’s Christmas”.

Since 2009 Nathan and his family have provided Christmas “Stockings” or bags to sick children and the goal for this year is to distribute them to at least 2,000 children.   A new, small stuffed animal (6″-12″) is one  part of the supplies that go into each bag. We are asking all of our TBB supporters to help us supply the 2,000 new stuffed animals needed for the “stockings”. Stuffed animals for this project must be NEW since they are going to children with weakened immune systems, any used donations will be used for TBB’s normal mission. If you’d be willing to help please drop them off at the Gleaning For The World warehouse or ship them to:

Teddy Bear Brigade – Nathan’s Christmas
7539 Stage Rd. Concord, VA 24538

If possible please include a $1 donation per stuffed animal donated. This will help to offset delivery expenses and help purchase other supplies. Make checks payable to “Gleaning For The World” and designate for “Nathan’s Christmas. Post pictures to the TBB Facebook page of you with your special stuffed animal donation.

Other needed supplies that can be donated are: pens, coloring books, small toys, matchbox cars, bouncing balls, barbies, notepads, crayons, bubbles, etc. All donations must be received by November 30th in order to be packed for delivery. You can follow Nathan’s story at Nathan’s Christmas: the PAGE and look for more notices at TeddyBearBrigade.com.
