In response to recent events in both Colorado and Florida, Gleaning For The World sent shipments of relief supplies that included water, food, blankets, pet supplies and stuffed animals. Tropical Depression Debby brought torrential rain and heavy flooding to areas in the Florida panhandle. In partnership with the local Salvation Army, we are working to help the families impacted by this storm get back on their feet. Over 700 stuffed animals were included in this shipment for children displaced by flooding.
While areas of Florida were feeling the effects of Debby, Colorado was being ravaged by wildfires. Hundreds of homes were destroyed, and thousands were displaced due to evacuations. Gleaning For The World has responded with several tractor trailer loads of supplies. These supplies were sent to New Life Church in Colorado Springs for distribution in their community. Among these supplies were over 900 children received stuffed animals, some of whom had lost everything.
